Understand the changes happening around us. Don't wait untill the results are embeded and unrecoverable. We need to make choices for our future. We need to make educated decisions and not be told what to think.
"The new financial overhaul bill is the greatest government tak...

Bell, California is a town of nearly 37,000 good souls located in Los Angeles County. The town is very small--2 1/2 square miles which qualifies it as one of the ten smallest cities in the United States. According to what I have read, its a pretty hard scrabble place--the town is so poor it runs its own food pantry and a quarter of its citizens are below the official poverty level.
But the improvished circumstances of the town and its residents haven't stopped its top elected officials from gorging at the public trough.
According to the July 20, 2010 Los Angeles Times and o...

Milton Friedman:
“There are four ways in which you can spend money.
You can spend your own money on yourself. When you do that, why then you really watch out what you’re doing, and you try to get the most for your money.
Then you can spend your own money on somebody else. For example, I buy a birthday present for someone. Well, then I’m not so careful about the content of the present, but I’m very careful about the cost.
Then, I can spend somebody else’s money on myself. And if I spend somebody else’s money on myself, then I’m sure going to have a good lunch! Finally, I...

Leave it to Maxine to come up with a solution...
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed.. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.
Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table, everywhere!
Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me a...

A Worse Crisis Is Yet to Come
by John Mauldin Oct 05, 2009 8:10 am
A look at Ubiquity, Complexity Theory, and Sandpiles
"On reflection, I think there are perhaps other, even larger, events in our future than the recent credit crisis and recession; yet, just as in 2006, there’s a great deal of complacency. But as we’ll see, there are fingers of instability building up that have the potential to create large disruptions -- both positive and negative -- in our future. And for the political junkies, I of...

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them..
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Re...

At 2 minutes, 20 seconds into this C-Span video clip, Rep. Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania explains how the Federal Reserve told Congress members about a "tremendous draw-down of money market accounts in the United States, to the tune of $550 billion dollars." According to Kanjorski, this electronic transfer occured over the period of an hour or two.

Some elections are routine, some are important and some are historic. If Senator John McCain wins this election, it will probably go down in history as routine. But if Senator Barack Obama wins, it is more likely to be
historic-- and catastrophic.
Once the election is over, the glittering generalities of rhetoric and style will mean nothing. Everything will depend on performance in facing huge challenges, domestic and foreign.
Performance is where Barack Obama has nothing to show for his political career, either in Illinois or in Washington.
Policies that he proposes under the ba...

You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much?
Boy am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS. I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.
- $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments. Verify at "http://tinyurl.com/zob77":http://tinyurl.com/zob77
